it had been a long time since i went to happy hour at a bar. truth is i've never been to happy hour but one beautiful day this week i went to ozumo restaurant in oakland.
nigiri sampler: tuna, hamachi, salmon, unagi. the fish was fresh but i didn't love the slightly dry rice.
arabiki: japanese sausage skewers. the name is a lot more impressive than it was. it tasted exactly like your average hotdog.
buta yaki: braised pork belly skewers. tasty morsels that was worth the calorie splurge. one piece was burnt though. the kitchen did turn the burnt side over. humm... wonder why.
spicy tuna roll, negi hama (hamachi and scallions), rock 'n roll (bbq unagi and avocado). these rolls were satisfying but again the rice was little dry.
edamame with garlic. the old stand-by.
i didn't love everything but it was mostly positive. the space itself was very well done. i couldn't take pictures of it from my phone due to lack of light.
